Jordan Loveland -
Jordan Loveland is in her 7th year of teaching string instruments in the public school setting. Ms. Loveland has previously taught orchestra in Northeast ISD in San Antonio and is currently teaching at Cambridge and Woodridge Elementaries in Alamo Heights ISD. Ms. Loveland holds a Master’s of Music in Double Bass Performance from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts and a dual Bachelor's degree in Music Education and Music Business from The University of Texas at Austin.
While at The University of Texas at Austin, Ms. Loveland was a faculty member of the UT String Project, where she taught music to a wide range of students ages birth to 18 years old. She also served as the UT String Project assistant director from 2012-14. Ms. Loveland is a certified Suzuki teacher and has studied with Dorothy and Sharon Jones (Suzuki Early Childhood Education, stages I and II) as well as Dr. Laurie Scott and Winifred Crock (Suzuki in the Schools). During her time in North Carolina, she had the opportunity to study double bass with Paul Sharpe. She also worked as an AmeriCorps member, a national service organization serving high need youth through arts integration, instruction, and exposure. She helped launch the UNCSA INSPIRE String Program in Winston-Salem Forsyth County Schools, with its mission to provide individual string instruction and develop skills in beautiful music making to elementary-aged students. Most recently, Ms. Loveland served as the assistant orchestra director at MacArthur High School in NEISD, receiving sweepstakes and superior ratings at UIL evaluations. Ms. Loveland has a private double bass studio where she teaches students ranging in age from elementary to high school. Ms. Loveland is a member of the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) and the American String Teachers Association (ASTA). In addition to teaching, Ms. Loveland enjoys performing and frequently plays with the Symphony of the Hills in Kerrville, TX. When she is not teaching or performing, Ms. Loveland enjoys cooking, traveling, exercising, and spending time with family and friends. Ms. Loveland is thrilled to be a part of Alamo Heights ISD and is looking forward to a wonderful year of music making!
